Terms and conditions for Dineout gift cards.
Terms and conditions for Dineout gift cards.
These terms apply to DineOut gift cards, which are issued by DineOut ehf., ID no. 460217-0910, and may be used as a payment method at the partners listed on the DineOut website at any given time. DineOut gift cards are specifically marked with DineOut branding, see more at dineout.is/giftcards.
DineOut gift cards are valid for two (2) years from the date of issue. After two (2) years have passed from the date of issue, the gift card automatically expires without further notice.
DineOut does not offer extensions, renewals, or reactivation of expired gift cards. Holders of DineOut gift cards are therefore encouraged to use their gift cards within the validity period.
DineOut gift cards are issued to the bearer. After payment has been received, the gift cards are delivered by email to the email address specified during the purchase process. The buyer is responsible for providing the correct email address. Gift cards are then delivered in PDF format, which can be printed or downloaded to a digital wallet on a smartphone.
To use a DineOut gift card, the holder must present it to a DineOut partner listed on DineOut's list at the time the gift card is presented.
The list of partners changes from time to time, and it is therefore important that the gift card holder keeps track of the list, which is available at dineout.is/en/giftcards/dineout. DineOut does not guarantee that all the same partners listed when a gift card was purchased will accept DineOut gift cards throughout the validity period of the respective gift card.
The gift card cannot be used as a payment method at any DineOut partner after its validity period expires.
DineOut gift cards are neither refundable in part or in full, nor redeemable for cash. The above applies regardless of whether the gift card has been fully used within its validity period or not.
DineOut gift cards are issued to the bearer, and DineOut partners are authorized to accept payment in the form of the gift card from whoever presents it at any time. It is therefore the responsibility of the gift card holder to ensure its safe keeping.
If a DineOut gift card changes hands, the new holder does not acquire better rights against DineOut or DineOut partners than the previous holder had under the gift card when the transfer took place.
Any commercial resale of gift cards from DineOut is prohibited without DineOut's consent.
DineOut is not liable for damages to customers or third parties resulting from theft of gift cards or any unauthorized disposal or use of gift cards as a payment method after their issuance.
These terms do not apply to gift cards that are not issued by DineOut.
Through the marketplace on the DineOut website, individual businesses offer gift cards for sale in their own name and receive payment for those gift cards themselves, but utilize DineOut software for this purpose, with DineOut acting as a technical service provider to the relevant business.
The businesses themselves are the issuers of such gift cards, not DineOut. Consequently, DineOut bears no responsibility for such gift cards, and no contract is formed between DineOut and buyers or holders of such gift cards.
Such gift cards are subject to the terms determined by the issuer of the respective gift card, and buyers or holders of such gift cards are advised to direct claims or inquiries regarding such gift cards to their issuers.
For the avoidance of doubt, DineOut is under no circumstances liable if the issuer of a gift card becomes insolvent, ceases operations, or for any reason becomes unable to fulfill its obligations.
Dineout ehf. reserves the right to make unilateral changes to these terms. The version of these terms that is available on the DineOut website at any given time shall apply.
