In 1956, the Sbarro family opened their first Italian restaurant in Brooklyn. In 1967, Sbarro opened its first open kitchen in the Kings Plaza shopping mall in Brooklyn, marking the beginning of Sbarro as we know it today, delicious, fresh, and authentic Italian food in an open kitchen with fast, friendly service.
