About us

Where does the name Pio come from? The name is a tribute to the famous Pio Vinhandel, which was established in Østerbro in 1881. When the old and fine inventory from the wine shop was to be removed, Kaare saw his chance to preserve it and store it on his farm. He spoke to Jesper and told him that he basically had an entire wine shop at home. This was the start of Pio Vinbar, and Anders was on board with the idea. The bar opened on November 24, 2017, and later Philip became the fourth owner. Today, the old wine racks from Pio Vinhandel are once again filled with wine, but this time as part of Pio Vinbar, and we're really happy about that.
