Whiskey 101 — Friday December 13th at 6 p.m & Saturday January 18th, 6 p.m.
Whiskey 101 is a course for those interested in getting to know whiskey better. Suitable for beginners and advanced.
All the main points will be covered, but we will:
– get to know the main varieties
– review the story
– learn ways to enjoy

You will taste at least 5–6 different species.
Japanese Whiskey — Friday January 17th, 6 p.m.
Japanese whiskeys have reached incredible heights in quality and are becoming more and more popular. This course will cover the main aspects of Japanese whiskey.
All the main aspects of Japanese whiskey will be covered, but we will:
– get to know the main varieties
– review history and style
– learn ways to enjoy
You will taste at least 5–6 different species.
The course takes about 2 hours.
American Whiskey — dates coming soon
American whiskeys have a rich history, but this course will introduce and taste the main ones.
Suitable for beginners and advanced.
All of the highlights of American whiskey will be covered, but we will:
– get to know the main varieties
– review history and style
– learn ways to enjoy
We taste 5 types that show a difference in emphasis in production, from bourbon to American single malt.
The course takes about 2 hours.
About the instructor
My name is Þorfinnur Guttormsson and I don't think it's best to call myself a salesman.
My interest in spirits arose early and has really been a driving force throughout my career.
I am now supplying the ever-thirsty Danes with drinks from the famous Mikkeller brewery. Before that, I worked at Foss distillery and Glóbus, as well as standing a few shifts behind the bar at Dillon's.
We originally set up the Whiskey School at Dillon as an employee training course. Inquiries soon began to arrive from out of town, but then it was obvious to let the curious in.
About the Whiskey School
Dillon's is by far the biggest whiskey bar in the country and has been for many years. We pride ourselves on offering 150 – 200 species at a time. We try to offer the best of each category and follow very closely what is happening in the world related to this nectar of the gods.
