Laut is a family-run restaurant founded by Arnór Ingi Bjarkason — owner and head chef of Skóg in Lithuania and former owner and head chef of Red Brick — together with his brother, Sigurður Björn, and their parents, Laufey and Bjarki.
During his career in Lithuania, Arnór earned a Michelin Green Star at Red Brick and led Skóg into the Michelin Guide in its very first year of operation. He continues to own and run Skóg today. Alongside his work abroad, the family set their sights on opening a restaurant in Iceland, bringing personal, genuine, and warm hospitality to the very heart of the experience.
The name Laut refers to a sheltered hollow or small valley in nature, evoking a sense of refuge, tranquillity, and comfort. Every aspect of Laut is shaped by nature, family, and a deep respect for the land and its ingredients.
